The Russian Orthodox Church is called upon to prevent civil confrontation in Russia in connection with the disagreement of part of the company with the results of the counting of votes in the parliamentary elections.

"It is impossible not to express satisfaction in connection with the fact that rallies in Russian cities are generally peacefully under the law, no matter how political positions, the main thing is to maintain the civil world and statehood today, to prevent the new 1905, 1917, 1991 or 1993," the head of the Moscow Patriarchate Department of the Church and Society of the Interfax -religion told the portal of the Church and Society. In his opinion, the peaceful course of rallies creates the conditions for a national dialogue about the format of electoral processes and on the means of public control over them. “I am convinced that such a dialogue is needed in the name of preserving the civil world and the trust of people to power. All political parties, representatives of various social groups, religious communities, social movements, including liberal and conservative oppositions, have a lot of sites for dialogues - there are a lot of sites - in particular, the public chamber,” the Church representative. At the same time, he emphasized that there can be no dialogue with provocateurs and hooligans, who should give a "tough force response - such as any self -respecting state in any part of the world."
