The LDPR nominated its leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky as a party candidate for presidential elections, RIA Novosti reports. The party’s congress takes place at the “Forum of the Hall” on Paveletskaya. The agenda included a nomination of a party candidate in the presidential election. 187 delegates from 83 Russian regions were invited to the congress. Zhirinovsky made a report in connection with the 22nd anniversary of the creation of the LDPR.

The Fair Russia party at the congress on Saturday also nominated its leader Sergei Mironov as a presidential candidate. Thus, information on the nomination of the first deputy chairman of the SR faction in the State Duma Oksana Dmitrieva was not confirmed. Gennady Gudkov was also called as a possible candidate.

The communists have already announced the intention to participate in the presidential election. Zyuganov’s candadature will be nominated at the Congress of the Communist Party on December 17.
