Russia sank another step in the global rating of the population, being in eighth place with an indicator of 142 million 857 thousand people. According to the results of the previous census (2002), the country took seventh place in the ranking of population. However, in 2002-2010, the number of its inhabitants decreased by 2.3 million people (1.6%). The average age of Russians decreased by 1.3 years and is 39 years old - these are the final official data of the Federal State Statistics Service on the results of the All -Russian Census of 2010, which is published on Friday , Rossiyskaya Gazeta .
The rate of reduction in the population, unfortunately, is accelerated. If we compare the year 1989 (the last Soviet census) and 2002 (the first Russian), then over 13 years the country lost 1.8 million people. And over the past 8 years, it was undergoing another 2.3 million.
The Russian Federation is still significantly ahead of China, India, the USA, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, and this time Bangladesh also moved. Even in comparison with the preliminary results , which were voiced by Rosstat in March this year (142 million 905 thousand people), the population decreased by 48 thousand people.
At the same time, the village was especially affected: the rural population losses are three times more than urban. Not only people die, but also the villages themselves. In 2002, statistics first recorded the mass desertification of Russian villages, and in subsequent years this process continued. Since 2002, the number of rural settlements has decreased by 8.5 thousand.
Part of the villages are alive. They just became part of neighboring cities and changed the status. But the part was eliminated, because due to the departure of the inhabitants to the cities and the "natural loss" they were empty. However, rural settlements that de jure still exist, but nobody really lives there, scribes counted even more - 19.4 thousand. Compared to the last census, this is 48% more.
According to Rosstat, the central, Volga and Siberian federal districts are still the most populated, on the territory of which more than 61% of the country's population live. 87.6 million people live on the territory of these districts (61.3% of all residents of the Russian Federation). In 2002, this figure amounted to 89.4 million people.
The ratio of men and women has not changed much, but the slow increase in the share of women continues, now 10.7 million more than men. The slow aging of the population also continues. The average age of the Russian, according to the census, is 39 years (in 2002 - 37.7).
The relations of women and men are changing and, accordingly, a portrait of the family. The number of couples in 2010 amounted to 33 million (in 2002 - 34 million). Of these, 13 percent are unregistered (in 2002 - 9.7 percent). The number of divorces, official and unofficial is growing. But the young spouses were noticeably diminished. If in 2002 3.7 thousand people under the age of 16 said they were married, now there are half as much.
As for the national composition of the country, the number of people who did not want to identify themselves in terms of nationality has increased. If in the last census there were about one and a half million people (1%), now - 5.6 million (3.7%). What kind of trend is, how it is called, it has yet to be understood by specialists.
However, 137.02 million people indicated their nationality. Among them are Russians - 111.02 million people. The proportion of people who are aware of themselves by Russians increased from 80.64% in 2002 to 80.90%. The share of the second largest nation - the Tatars - remained at the same level of 5.31 million (3.87%), but the share of Ukrainians, on the contrary, was significantly reduced: from 2.05% to 1.41 (1.93 million people). Among the peoples who significantly added in the general "weight" of the country, - Chechens, Avars, Armenians.
The number of citizens of the Russian Federation amounted to 137.9 million people (99.4% of persons who indicated citizenship , or 96.5% of the total number of residents), 700 thousand people have citizenship of other states, and 200 thousand - stateless persons.
The number of Russians with higher education has increased by more than 41%since 2002, with incomplete higher education - by 44%, and at the same time there were fewer illiterate. According to Rosstat, in 2002, 19.4 million people had higher education. In 2010, there were already 27.5 million. Of these, 4.3% have a bachelor's degree, a specialist - 93% and a master - 2.3%.
"Among specialists with higher professional education, 707 thousand people have postgraduate education (in 2002 - 369 thousand people)," Rosstat notes. According to the census, in Russia 596 thousand candidates of sciences and 124 thousand doctors of sciences. The number of people with incomplete higher education (by 44%) has also increased, of which 68% continue their training. Slightly increased persons with secondary (complete) general education (by 0.9%). At the same time, the number of people aged 15 years or more with the basic general and primary education decreased.
It should be noted a decrease in the share of the illiterate population aged 10 years or more. If in 2002 the share of illiterate in this age group was 0.5%, then in 2010 - 0.3%. Among the illiterate population, 42% are persons aged 60 years or more (in 2002 - 67%).
In 2010, 138 million people indicated the Russian language , in 2002 - 142.6 million people. Among other languages, the most common are English, Tatar, German, Chechen, Bashkir, Ukrainian and Chuvash.
The All -Russian population census was carried out from October 14 to 25 last year. Earlier it was reported that the final results will be summed up and published during 2011-2013.
It was noted that until June 30, 2012, the results should be summed up for the number, placement, age-sex structure, marriage, education, national composition and language knowledge, citizenship, sources of livelihood, economic activity, number and composition of the household, as well as the number of persons temporarily located on the date of the census in Russia.
