The Russians did not go unnoticed - a hot dozen requests received from the territory of the Russian Federation was compiled. As you can see, our compatriots have completely different interests than the rest of the planet. All network users are in solidarity, perhaps, only in the manifestation of attention to electronic technical innovations. However, according to experts, this picture may not coincide with reality, since Google in Russia is inferior in popularity to Yandex.
The Google Internet giant, owning the largest search engine on the Internet and a number of other superpopular services, is not the first time on the eve of Christmas publishes a selection of the most popular search queries reflecting the main trends in the outgoing year. The Google Zeitgeist service summarizes and analyzes the flow of search queries arriving at the search system, and makes up the corresponding ratings for frequency/popularity of requests.
In 2010, an interactive map replaced simple graphs, which allowed to monitor the fluctuations of interest in a particular event at different points in the planet. The German expression zeitgeist, meaning the "spirit of time", has been used from the 19th century to indicate the totality of all the features of this moment (philosophy, economics, literature, social structures, political climate, etc.) in their entirety, dynamics and trends.
In addition, Google reminded of the most noticeable events of the year with the help of a three -minute video clip containing video clips, photographs, quotes of requests and news tapes. Thus, resonant political events were mentioned in the video: Arab revolutions in Egypt , Tunisia , Syria , Libya , mass riots in Greece , and the liquidation of the American special forces of Al-Qaeda Ben Laden .
