According to paragraph 2.10 of the instructions for the safety of sea tows dated July 8, 1996, the Federal Service of the Russian Navy of Russia, "to ensure the security of the towed vessel on board, there may be a qualified crew or its minimum necessary part, headed by the captain. Towing of the vessel with passengers on board is prohibited."

There were no people in a boat found on Monday in the area of ​​the death of the Kola drill platform. On the eve of four rafts were discovered, allegedly belonging to the "Kola", on which there was also nobody. So, the official representative of the Far Eastern Investigation Department of Transport, Natalya Salkina, told Interfax that the crew of the platform consisted of 57 people. According to the Ministry of Emergencies, 67 people were on board - 53 crew members and 14 passengers. Earlier it was also reported that there were 43 crew members and 33 passengers on Kola.

After the accident, 14 people were saved in the Kola Crime Pilling platform in the Okhotsk Sea, 16 died. The condition of the rescued is evaluated as satisfactory. The bodies of the dead crew members are planned to be lifted to the icebreaker "Magadan". The rest are considered missing, their list was published by Newsru.com.

Interfax, citing the General Director of Arcticmorneftegazrandka OJSC Yuri Melekhova, reports that the company will pay 3 million rubles to the families of the dead. In addition, Melekhov said that a hotel on Sakhalin was rented by the company, where those who managed to survive, as well as relatives of the victims who came to identification, could accommodate.

The governor of the Magadan region Nikolai Dudov also promised to allocate material assistance to the families of members of the crew of the drill platform. According to reports, nine residents of the Magadan region were on board the Kola.

Rescuers plan to continue the search for survivors before the onset of darkness.

A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of the accident under part 3 of article 263 of the Criminal Code ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and the operation of sea transport, which entailed the death of two or more persons by negligence").
