After the accident, 14 people were saved in the Kola Crime Pilling platform in the Okhotsk Sea, 16 died. The condition of the rescued is evaluated as satisfactory. The bodies of the dead crew members are planned to be lifted to the icebreaker "Magadan". The rest are considered missing, their list was published by Newsru.com.

Interfax, citing the General Director of Arcticmorneftegazrandka OJSC Yuri Melekhova, reports that the company will pay 3 million rubles to the families of the dead. In addition, Melekhov said that a hotel on Sakhalin was rented by the company, where those who managed to survive, as well as relatives of the victims who came to identification, could accommodate.

The governor of the Magadan region Nikolai Dudov also promised to allocate material assistance to the families of members of the crew of the drill platform. According to reports, nine residents of the Magadan region were on board the Kola.

A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of the accident under part 3 of article 263 of the Criminal Code ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and the operation of sea transport, which entailed the death of two or more persons by negligence").
