In Cambodia on Tuesday, a large Russian businessman Alexander Trofimov was released according to the royal amnesty. Earlier, the developer was convicted of pedophilia , and at least about twenty children became victims of the pervert.
"The Russian was among the 360 prisoners who were amnestied by the decree of King Cambodia Norodom Siamoni," writes The Phnom Penh Post with reference to the prison administration, which contained Trofimov.
According to the head of the Preah Sihanouk prison, Picha Visna, the penitentiary department itself petitioned for the liberation of the businessman. The warders came to the conclusion that he had recovered and completely repented of his deed.
Recall that the 44-year-old Russian businessman Alexander Trofimov was convicted in Cambodia in November 2008 for molestation of minors. The director of a large construction company was arrested in October 2007 on suspicion of molestation of 19 girls.
As follows from the case file, crimes were committed in 2005 - 2007. For each raped Cambodia, a rich foreigner paid from 2 to 5 thousand dollars.
In March 2008, the court found the Russian pedophile guilty of raping 14 -year -old Cambodia and sentenced him to 13 years in prison. In October, the Court of Appeal of Phnom Peni reduced the charge of the charge to six years. And on November 28, 2008, the Municipal Court of Sihanville found Trofimov guilty of using the services of five minor prostitutes and gave him an additional eight years of prison. Three years of conclusion, he was added in January 2009 on charges of contact with (total) 19 minor Cambodia.
We add that young girls aged six to 14 years old became victims of the serial pedophile.
In 2010, the court again revised the Trofimov case. Since the accused in his statement apologized to the relatives of the victims, the previous decisions of the Court of Appeal of Phnom Peni and the Municipal Court of Sianukville were canceled, and the pedophile was halved, up to eight years. At the same time, the court noted that the convict, being a foreigner, allegedly did not know the laws of Cambodia, reports to ITAR-TASS.
At the same time, we note that such a commentary to the Asian Themis looks at least strange. Since Russian laws should be well known to the pedophile. And on them, sexual relations with a minor are also criminally punishable.
By the way, the trail of crimes reaches for Trofimov from the Russian Federation. The Russian authorities even sought the extradition of the construction tycoon, enclosing the charges against him of violence against adolescents.
During the consideration of the case, Judge Cambodia also reduced the number of victims from 19 to 17 people.
The mitigation of punishment to an influential pedophile from Russia caused a storm of indignation in society. “An amazing court decision. The public will not reconcile with this. Eight years are unacceptable,” said the lawyer of the victims Noun Phanit.
"Our judicial system is trying to protect children or help rapists? Apoles or extra -court transactions with victims do not give the right to reduce the deadline for minors," the director of the Licadho human rights group, Pilojo, said at the same time.
“We demand that the offender stay in prison for a longer period. This is our work. However, the sentence is within the competence of the court,” added the head of the Department of Sexual Crimes and Trade of Human Bit Kimhong.
Now the King of Cambodia completely freed the pervert from punishment.
The pedophile was released from prison "On business matters"
Alexander Trofimov, who owns the investment company Koh Puos, led a Volga life in prison. The prisoner was even arranged by "official business trips", during which he returned to the management of his business empire. The company of Trofimov contracted to build a tourist zone for 300 million dollars near Sianukville, which local media christened Megakurort.
In June 2009, an employee of the Ministry of Justice of Cambodia was arrested for falsification of documents, including permission to extradite Trofimov to Russia, where they also want to arrest him for committing crimes of a sexual nature. The official was sentenced to a fine and imprisonment for eight years.
The assistant Trofimov demanded that the official return the money that he was paid as a bribe for forgery. In the same period, as it turned out, the businessman was released from prison for a while so that he could visit the construction site on which his company erected a resort complex. For this, they lowered the head of the prison head, which contained Trofimov.
Now Koh Puos claims that Alexander Trofimov is no longer its director. "He is no longer the head of the company. I do not want to hear this name," said the NOUTA trading manager.
The case of the pedophile Trofimov, the issuance of which was achieved by Interpol and the Russian authorities, has become the largest in Cambodia in recent years. Showing courts over the rapists, according to ponom, should help improve the image of the country. Since 2008, the authorities were held accountable for 64 pedophiles, mainly foreigners.
