Kudrin: Power is ready for dialogue, I am ready to assist

Former Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin is ready to promote the "subject dialogue between society and power" with the aim of "non-violent transformation of our political system and the entire state." “I hope to be useful,” writes Kudrin in an article published on Saturday at Kommersant.

Kudrin is confident in the possibility of a peaceful change in the political regime - "dynamic, but not revolutionary." “Future presidential elections, the result of which will be adopted by society, may and should be confirmed by this. Judging by the initiative of Vladimir Putin regarding the installation of cameras in polling stations (as it may be technically difficult), he is ready for this,” writes Kudrin. In his opinion, the "internal readiness" of the authorities for an open discussion is constantly growing. " However, it still "has to talk," writes Kudrin. He considers the initiatives of President Dmitry Medvedev on the reform of the electoral system to be inadequate to the request of protesting citizens.

Last week, Kudrin welcomed the nomination of Mikhail Prokhorov in the presidential election, but said that he had not yet decided who would support. He expressed the wish that Putin's program "solves the problem of challenges that are facing the country." Meanwhile, Putin on the same day during a straight line called Kudrin to his close friend. According to him, Kudrin remains in his team and for him there will be a place in the future government.

Simultaneously with the publication of the article by Kudrin on the night of Saturday, the Presidential Council for Human Rights made the initiative to create a "negotiation mechanism" between citizens and authorities. Its goal should be to "achieve a fair public agreement in the transition to a new political reality," the Council said in a special meeting dedicated to violations in the parliamentary elections. The Council recommended that the electoral legislation immediately reform and clean the election commission, and then appoint early elections to the State Duma. The head of the CEC Vladimir Churov, members of the Council propose to resign due to the loss of trust.
