The Ministry of Energy is interested in whether the leaders of Gazprom, Rosatom, Transneft and Irkutskenergo are involved in other structures

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation requested detailed information about the participation of representatives of a number of large energy companies and their close relatives in commercial activities of other structures. According to Interfax , citing a source in the energy industry, the corresponding letters are sent to Gazprom, Rosatom, Transneft and Irkutskenergo.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the letter notes that "in accordance with the order of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the data collection must be completed by January 15 of the next year."

"The Ministry of Energy expects that by this time the company who received the specified request will present information about the heads and deputy managers, as well as members of their families and close relatives of both the main organization and subsidiaries and dependent societies, as well as independent structural units," the source emphasized.

"The Ministry of Energy requested information about the indicated persons of contractual relations with other organizations about owning their shares or shares in the authorized capital, as well as the presence of any opportunity to influence the decisions made. This work is aimed at eliminating the ground for a conflict of interests," the agency’s interlocutor explained.

According to him, on Monday, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation should be held on a working meeting on the organization of work on the declaration of the leading composition of the fuel and energy complex of participation in the activities of other organizations.

A source in the industry also said that on the initiative of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, an interagency working group was created to analyze data on the participation of the management of energy companies in commercial activities of other organizations and offshore activities.

"The working group was formed on the initiative of the Minister of Energy Sergei Shmatko, it was headed by a state secretary - Deputy Minister Yuri Sentyurin, and the group, in addition to representatives of the Ministry of Energy, included officials of Rosfinmonitoring and the FSB," the agency’s interlocutor noted.

According to him, "the working group will have to analyze a large array of data and according to the results of the analysis, it is planned to adjust the regulatory framework." “This is the first experience of such a large -scale industry work that other ministries will be able to use in the future,” the source concluded.
