
On the night of December 30, at the age of 80, the ex-governor of the Tula region Vasily Starodubtsev died. This was announced in his microblog by the current head of the region Vladimir Gruzdev.
Starodubtsev was a Soviet party and political figure, an honorary citizen of the Tula region. In 1991, he was a member of the State Emergency Committee, one of the initiators of the creation of the Agrarian Party (later member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Communist Party), the former chairman of the Russian Agro -Industrial Union.
In 1997-2005 - head of the administration of the Tula region.
In 2007, he was elected deputy of the State Duma from the Party of the Communist Party.
