Former Director of the Mayakovsky Theater Evgeny Kurilenko, who was dismissed due to the conflict with Karbauskis, and appointed by the Department of Culture of Moscow as the director of the Ruben Simonov Theater, told RIA Novosti about the situation that led to the change of place of her work.

She indignantly stated that Karbauskis for her "is not so authority that there is nothing even to comment here." She noted that for seven months of work in Mayakovka, she did a lot of work, and the new director "did nothing in seven months, no one had seen his performance yet." “There was one production on a small stage -“ Mayakovsky goes to sugar ” , as far as I know, it is not very successful: 36 tickets were sold on the premiere day, and 80 seats were in the hall,” Kurilenko said.

“The conflict began with the play“ The Rubezh ”, which was in our branch. This performance is dedicated to the defense of Moscow. I want to emphasize once again: I never went into repertoire politics or the artistic part.

And with this performance it turned out like this. The branch was closed, and the productions were transferred from there to the theater - to the small stage. In her opinion, the Department of Culture of Moscow took the side of Karbauskis, because "the main thing in the theater is creativity." At the same time, Kurilenko noted that many famous artists from the Mayakovsky troupe reacted to her dismissal with regret and sympathy. “I talked with many of our respected artists, folk ones, they told me:“ Evgenia Ivanovna, we have no complaints about you at all, your work is there. ”I don’t call names, because, you understand, the actor is completely dependent on the Khudruk - something superfluous will reach him, and the person will forever be left without a role,” she said.

According to Kurilenko, the economy has been launched at a new place of work, but it does not scare it, especially since in Mayakovka, when she only came there, the situation was no better.

According to Kurilenko, December 31 will be her first working day at the Ruben Simonov Drama Theater, but she arrived at a new place of service two days earlier - to get acquainted with the artistic director Vyacheslav Schaelevich and evaluate the scale of the upcoming work.

“I looked at the theater. He, of course, is in terrible condition, but when I came to Mayakovsky’s theater, it was no better.
