The leading championship of Serbia Partizan parted with coach Aleksandar Stanoevich. He was replaced by the ex-mentor of Chelsea and the Israeli national team Abraham Grant.
The leadership of Partizan decided to abandon the services of the 38-year-old Stanevich, who led the Belgrade club for 20 months. The youngest coach in the history of the team twice led her to the championship title, and in the last campaign, Partisan made a “golden double”. At the end of last year, the sports director of the Club of Maln Krstaich was also fired.
In the near future, the 56-year-old grant will be officially presented as the new partisan coach. The details of his personal contract have not yet been announced.
He won the Israeli championship twice with Tel Aviv and Haifi McCabi, while the national team of this country under his leadership passed the entire qualification of the 2006 World Cup.
Then Grant brought Chelsea to the Champions League final 2007/08. Recently, he worked with West Ham, but in May he left the "Molotoboyans" after departure from the Premier League, the UEFA official website reports.
At the moment, Partizan is ahead of ten points ahead of the second place in the Tsrven Star standings. Belgrade is trying for the fifth time in a row to win the championship title, as well as defend the Serbia Cup, where they have already reached the 1/2 finals.
