Bentley announced the release of new models and switching to ethanol and electricity

Bentley Director General Wolfgan Durheimer spoke about the company's plans for the near future, reports Avtomotro.ru .

The most anticipated news was the upcoming luxury crossover. Dürheimer did not reveal all the details about what the Bentley SUV will be, but, as Car and Driver reports, noted that: "It will definitely not be Hummer, although the SUV sizes will be impressive and the places will be enough for the front and rear passengers ..."

Apparently, Bentley SUV will be something more than swollen to the size of the Continental SUV. It’s not long to wait - according to Durheimer, the announcement of the new car will take place in the next few weeks.

Among other things, he spilled light on the upcoming Bentley hybrid power plant, which, perhaps, will receive both engines - both V8 and W12. It is likely that the company will stop at the decision to make hybrid only the most powerful and voluminous engine, which in this case will receive an additional electric motor and battery. The supply of pure "electric drive" at the version with the W12 motor will be about 30 kilometers.

Since 12-cylinder engines poorly correspond to the concepts of fuel economy, Bentley intends to take some steps to correct the situation.

So, since the spring of this year, the Continental GT and Continental GTC models will be able to use E85 bioethanol along with gasoline. This will improve fuel efficiency by 40%.

But, of course, the biggest step in the direction of environmental friendliness for Bentley will be the transition to connected hybrids - technology that Volkswagen is actively developing and trying to introduce on other brands of the Volkswagen concern.
