The economic policy of Russia will not obey any political graphs, but is designed for a significant perspective, the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday at a meeting on economic issues.
"Under the conditions of preserved internal problems and conditions of global instability, the economic policy of the state, as before, should be primarily balanced, verified and detailed," Itar -Tass quotes Medvedev.
At the same time, he emphasized that "she should not obey any political schedules." The economic policy of the country, the head of state indicated, "should be designed for a significant perspective forward and create conditions for solving the most difficult, including social issues that ensure the high quality of life of our people."
The meeting discussed the preparation of the long-term concept of the development of the economy and the social sphere of the country for the period until 2020 ("Strategy-2020").
“There are difficulties in achieving the main goals of the document - determining the mechanisms of innovative growth and ways to form effective market and state institutions,” the head of state admitted. “We will not hide it, they are associated with our internal problems, many of which have not yet been solved, and to no less a worsening situation in the global economy,” Medvedev explained. “The slowdown in the growth rate of leading economies, the position of transnational banks and the main reserve currencies today cause serious concern among the expert community.
“Despite the fact that the results of the development of our country over the past year look in general very good, we must look forward, because we need to think about preparing a strategy and development for a long period,” Medvedev continued. “This year will be clearly difficult.”
The President also recalled that a special expert group for the development of a concept was formed. “In any case, in the conditions of preserved internal problems and especially global instability, the state’s economic policy should be primarily balanced, verified and detailed. It should not obey any political graphics, it should be designed for a significant perspective forward,” he continued.
The economic policy of the state "should create conditions for solving social issues, issues of ensuring high quality life of people." “At the same time, we must create a model that will stimulate the development, the influx of investment, the technological modernization of enterprises and the emergence of new industries,” he said.
The main task Medvedev called the improvement of the investment climate. “This task remains number one; among other key tasks - debit and increase in the efficiency of entrepreneurial activity, preserving macroeconomic parameters,” the president said. “These indicators should create the basis for the growth of our economy, I mean low inflation, promotion of structural diversification of the economy, and the growth of high -tech export.”
Ultimately, "Strategy-2020" should give answers to these questions, Medvedev added, recalling that now "Russia lives in new economic realities: we have joined the WTO, now there is a process of final ratification of documents." “In addition, we have formed a single economic space with the participation of Belarus and Kazakhstan, which also creates a fundamentally new situation in our united market,” he concluded.
