Opposition parties presented in the State Duma - the Communist Party, "Fair Russia" and the LDPR - hold a rally permitted by the authorities on Manezhnaya Square in Moscow. About a thousand people gathered for a rally. At the rally, Gennady Zyuganov and the leader of the "Left Front" Sergey Udaltsov performed.

The first leader of the Communist Party, Gennady Zyuganov, spoke mainly about the President of the Russian Federation who has passed the Duma elections and the upcoming elections, in which he will take part as a candidate. Zyuganov recalled that the Communists are already introducing a number of bills to the lower house of parliament aimed at changing the electoral system of Russia.

The head of the Communist Party noted that about 1.5 thousand claims have already been prepared on the facts of violations in the Duma elections. According to him, "the guys from the Internet still send evidence," ITAR-TASS reports.

Zyuganov promised in case of victory to limit the term of powers of the President by two terms of no more than 5 years and criticized a policy of a number of ministries. “We must do everything to change the situation. We will be able to do this by uniting all the forces of the people of the patriotic bloc,” the leader of the Communist Party called his supporters.

The leader of the "Left Front" Sergei Udaltsov also performed at the rally. “Now, you know, there are many thousands of promotions for honest elections. Someone says: there are only“ orange ”, there is no need to go there. There is no need to listen to such nonsense. There are ordinary citizens, no one pays them, no state department. Some forces are trying to privatize this protest,” Udaltsova quotes “Interfax” quoted.

“But if we, the Communists, we, progressive people, will be there, then this will no longer be an orange protest, but a red protest,” he added. He recalled that on February 4, a peaceful procession will be held for honest elections, and called on the rally participants to take part in this action. “Today we want honest elections today, today we want social justice. Today we want crooks and thieves to bear responsibility,” said the coordinator of the Left Front.

He also turned to the rally participants with the question of whether they want Vladimir Putin to become president again and led the country for six more years. The participants in chorus replied: "No" and began to chant: "Power to the Congress of Soviets."

A rally, which lasted for about an hour, ended without incidents. Its participants behaved quite calmly, and the police, which ensured order, is quite correct, ITAR -TASS reports. As reported to reporters in the press service of the capital's Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there were 1.5 thousand people at the peak of a rally on Manezhnaya Square, and by the end of the event there were about 400 participants.
