The authorities of Great Britain can sell Westminster Palace to investors from Russia or China, Gazeta.ru reports with reference to The Telegraph. As the publication explains, such a decision can be made in order to preserve the legendary building. The house of the parliament is gradually plunging into the Thames, which is why the famous Big-Ben tower has already tilted 18 inches. To rectify the situation, London needs more than 1 billion pounds, which in the current economic situation, the authorities cannot be allocated from the state budget.

Selling the historical building of the parliament to the developer from Russia or China is one of the ideas to save the palace. If this happens, members of the parliament, led by the Prime Minister, will move to a new building.

The Westminster Palace was built in the 11th century, but the building that exists to this day arose in 1840-1860 on the site of the palace burned in 1834. During the fire, it was possible to save the main aarchitectural value of the ensemble-Westminster-Hall, which was not affected after the destructive air strike of the fascist troops in May 1941. The palace, along with the Coliseum and the Eiffel Tower, is one of the most famous buildings in the world and the symbol of London.

According to the newspaper, a building located on the shore of the Thames began to fall into the water after the metro lines began to be built in the city, as well as due to the appearance of underground parking in the parliament. By the 2000s, huge cracks began to appear on many structures of the palace ensemble. “I think the authorities will be surprised if one day with a clock with a clock simply collapses into the water,” said one of the members of the parliament Thomas of the daughter.

In August 2011, an unnamed buyer from Russia became the new owner of the most expensive mansion in the UK, a 300-year estate, included in the list of protected architectural objects. The Park Place estate in Oxfordshire was purchased for 140 million pounds or about $ 2,25 million, breaking the record of the ONE HYDE PARK residential complex in Britain. One apartment here was sold a few months ago for 136 million pounds to the Ukrainian entrepreneur Rinat Akhmetov.

Together with the mansion and underground premises, the new buyer of the British estate received an area of ​​several hectares of land, protected as a valuable natural object of a park, monuments, cottages, stables and a boat station - the estate enters the Thames and is located in the area of ​​the city of Hengli, the famous Royal Regata.

In 2008, there were reports that the wife of Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkova Elena Baturina, who is considered the richest woman in Russia, bought a second largest mansion in London. In size, the Whiteanherst mansion is second only to the Buckingham Palace. It was reported that Baturina paid for the purchase of 50 million pounds, while only a year ago the mansion went to the previous owner for 32 million. Earlier in the mansion were the shooting of the Air Force Air Force Fame Academy - "Analogue of the Star Factory".
