The Russian Foreign Ministry considers the introduction of the European Union of a new package of unilateral sanctions against Iran “dictatorship” and an attempt to punish the republic for intransigence. This is stated in the official statement of the department.
New sanctions approved by the EU on January 23 suggest that by July 1, all EU countries buying oil from Iran will have to completely turn import from this country. The main share of European imports of Iranian oil, about 68 percent, falls on Greece, Italy and Spain.
The Russian Foreign Ministry considers the pressure on Iran as a “deeply erroneous line”, which will only give up the Islamic Republic, so “under the pressure of this kind of Iran will not go to any concessions, to any adjustments of their policy.”
Iran announced that the response to the sanctions would be an overlap of the passage through the Strait of the Ormuzian Strait. The US Navy has already been sent to this zone.
