The Polish court left the ex-prosecutor Ignatenko

The Court of Appeal in Krakow rejected the complaint of the ex-prosecutor Alexander Ignatenko to the decision of the district court on his temporary arrest, the website of RIA Novosti reports. Thus, the court left the detainee in custody.

Ignatenko asked to free him on a bail, provided that the ban from leaving Poland. However, the state prosecution considered that the pledge and the subscription about the not to leave were a sufficient measure of restraint for the ex-prosecutor.

The former first deputy prosecutor of the Moscow Region Ignatenko is taking place in the case of a network of underground casinos in the suburbs. He was detained at the Polish ski resort at the beginning of the year.

Ignatenko arrived in Zakopan at the end of last month to meet his wife and child. Polish special services conducted constant observation. The ex-prosecutor did not provide resistance during the detention. When Ignatenko was already leaving the city, his car was surrounded by employees of the Poland Internal Security Agency. The district court in New Sonch on January 4 temporarily arrested it for 40 days from the date of detention in Poland - until February 9. According to some reports, Ignatenko drove into Poland on a fake passport.

In the spring of 2011, in the suburbs, in connection with the exposure of the illegal gambling business, a scandal broke out, which caused a wide public outcry. According to the investigation, entrepreneur Ivan Nazarov organized a network of underground casinos in 15 cities of the Moscow Region. Senior employees of the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including Ignatenko, were involved in the illegal business, which brought an income of 5 million to 10 million dollars a month. He was later put on an international wanted list.

On January 16, the Investigative Committee sent all the necessary documents to the Prosecutor General’s Office to start the Ignatenko extence procedure from Poland.
