Prokhorov was registered as a presidential candidate

On January 25, the Central Election Commission registered the entrepreneur Mikhail Prokhorov as a candidate for the position of president of Russia, reports SAS T RIA Novosti .

Prokhorov became the fifth registered candidate for the post of head of state. Thus, the final list of applicants for the position of president became known. The leaders of the four parliamentary parties have already been registered as candidates: Vladimir Putin from United Russia, Gennady Zyuganov from the Communist Party, Sergey Mironov from Just Russia and Vladimir Zhirinovsky from the LDPR.

To register Prokhorov, as a self -nominated man, it was necessary to collect 2 million signatures in his support. The results of the check of Signal sheets of Prokhorov revealed only 4.38 percent of inaccurate signatures. According to the law, no more than 5 percent of inaccurate signatures is allowed so that the candidate is officially registered.

The leader of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky and the governor of the Irkutsk region Dmitry Mezentsev, however, the CEC revealed too many marriage in the signature sheets they provided, were going to be advanced as self -nominates. Yesterday, the Central Election Commission said that about 24 percent of marriage in the signature sheets of Grigory Yavlinsky give the commission the right not to register him with a presidential candidate. "Yabloko" intends to challenge the decision of the CEC to refuse to register Yavlinsky. Mezentsev, in turn, called the work of the Central Election Commission of a professional and relevant law and stated that he would wait for the official results of the audit.
