Rogozin proposed to create an agency to evaluate threats of national security

An agency for strategic planning should appear in Russia to evaluate threats to the national and technological security of Russia, Vice-Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Saturday. It is this structure that should develop long -term development strategies - including in the field of economics and science, Rogozin is convinced. In his opinion, no one is engaged in medium and long-term planning in Russia. Initially, from the words of Rogozin it was possible to conclude that the new government agency, but then he recovered: they would do without officials.

He reported his idea at a meeting of the Academy of Military Sciences. “Perhaps the Agency for Strategic Analysis and Planning should be established under the Government of the Russian Federation, the functions will be to assess the prospects for the development of the situation in the world in the field of security, determine the risks and threats of national defense capabilities and technological independence of Russia for a 30-year perspective-no less, and maybe a longer period,” Vice-Prime Minister ITAR-TASS quotes.

Later in his microblog on Twitter , Rogozin wrote: "This structure will act under the auspices of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government of the Russian Federation. We are not talking about the new agency as part of the government." And also noticed that the agency should be a scientific structure, and not the bureaucratic one - "bureaucratization has more than once destroyed the right undertakings."

According to Rogozin, the agency will have to develop strategies for the main military, economic and scientific and technical directions of Russia's development for the specified period. Based on this, a forecast of the needs of the Russian armed forces in the appropriate weapons and the development of forms of armed struggle will be formed. Recommendations on the technological and industrial development of the domestic defense industry will also be developed.

Rogozin said that the need for a more complete and efficient assessment of threats to state security has risen. This problem requires a systematic approach and implementation on a state scale of interconnected political, economic, diplomatic, information and other events.

Without false modesty, Rogozin said: "At present, the issues of medium and long -term planning in full in Russia are not resolved, so this is largely innovative."

Rogozin also said that a new plant was built in Moscow for the production of modern rifle sniper weapons. "On February 16, we will see the new plant in Moscow with the chairman of the State Duma defense commission and the chairman of the Federation Council Defense and Security Commission for the production of modern rifle sniper weapons. He exceeds all European enterprises in the technology of equipping the plant and only with the American ones," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
