The Chechen owner of Ksamaks will be in prison until the end of February

The owner of the bankrupt Swiss football club KSAMAX, Chechen businessman Bulat Chagaev will be in preliminary imprisonment until February 27.

Recall that the Disciplinary Committee of the Swiss Football League on January 18 deprived Ksamax "licenses for a performance in the championship of the country . On Thursday, the arbitration and regional courts rejected the instructions, after which the leadership of Xamax recognized the club bankrupt.

Following this, Chagaev was called for interrogation to the Geneva Prosecutor's Office, after which it was placed under custody by the decision of the prosecutor Iv Bertoss on suspicion of forging documents and an unfair business.

On Friday evening, a businessman’s lawyer Jacques Baryon, through a court, demanded to free his client from custody, citing the fact that there was no threat to escape by his client, since he had previously appeared before Geneva justice, knowing that he would be charged. As the conditions of liberation, Baryon proposed the removal of a passport from Chagaev, an electronic bracelet and house arrest.

In turn, the prosecutor Bertoss demanded additional guarantees in the form of a pledge in the amount of 5 million francs. However, Chagaev, according to Baryon, did not want to make a bail, citing the fact that he needed to pay the salary of Xamax to employees.

As a result, the court made a decision in favor of the prosecutor’s office, leaving Chagaev for a month in custody.

According to the lawyer, the court justified his decision with concerns that Chagaev, being at large, could conspire with the Vice President of Xamax, Islam Satuyev, who was also placed in the ny-shaped on Thursday.

Baryon noted that his client met the court decision calmly and "the prison does not scare him."

Answering the questions of journalists, Baryon said that his client had invested about 12 million francs in Xamax and did not assign a penny from the club’s budget. According to the lawyer, Chagaev rejects the accusations against him and considers himself a victim of violent pressure from the media.
