The player of the Serbia team in handball, Hyshum, suffered at the hands of his own fans during the semifinals of the European Championship against Croatia and was hospitalized, said Veselin Vukovich, head coach of the Serbian team.

The unknown Serbian fan threw from the rostrum towards the members of the Croatian team, which fell into the face of Sheshum. The athlete with damage to the eye was sent for examination to the hospital.

Due to the tense relations between the fans, the match of the Serbs and Croats was held under the enhanced police supervision. Meanwhile, it became known that under a preliminary arrest for a period of one month, 13 young people aged 21-26 were placed on suspicion of attacking Croatian fans a few days ago. Two more are wanted.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at the end of the match of the prefabricated Croatia and France in the area of ​​the city of Novi-Sad, when the car column with Croatian fans was attacked by a group of Serbian hooligans. As a result, several people were injured, at least 15 cars were damaged, RIA Novosti reports.
