All Lanta-Tour clients should receive compensation, counted in Rosturism

The insurance coverage of 100 million rubles should be enough for all injured clients of Lanta-Tur Voyazh, said ITAR-TASS as head of the Department of International Cooperation of Rostourism Valery Korovkin following an emergency meeting, which took place in the department with the participation of leading tour operators.

“At the meeting, together with insurers and tour operators, we discussed, in particular, the issue of insurance coverage. As a result, when taking into account all the subtleties, we came to the conclusion that the amount of 100 million rubles, for which the Lanta Tour was insured at Ingosstrakh, should be enough to compensate and satisfy the claims of customers of the company,” he said.

According to Rosturism and Ator, at the moment there are 2 thousand 700 Lante Tourists abroad abroad. For some, accommodation in hotels was not fully paid, which led to the fact that tourists begin to be evicted from hotels. Rostourism, together with the consular services, connected to solving this problem: a dialogue is conducted with the administrations of the hotels in which the Russians are located so that their stay was extended until the day of departure home.

Korovkin recalled that "from Monday, January 30, tourists may begin to submit applications for compensation to the special headquarters organized today in the office. “Rostourism, for its part, will also make efforts so that the insurer satisfies all the claims and complaints of customers,” he promised.

In order to receive compensation, Lanta clients must now prepare a package of documents for providing it to the insurance company. "It must include an agreement on the provision of travel services with the agency and documents confirming the payment of the tour."

Lanta Tour Voyage - one of the largest companies in the Russian market - unexpectedly suspended her work on Friday. As a result, about 100 customers of the company could not fly abroad on the night of Saturday, January 28. According to ATOR, this weekend, about 600 people should have flown out on the tours of this company. The companies are over 12 years old, it served such directions as Thailand, Vietnam, India.
