The earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred in the Egyptian resort city of Hurghada. According to ITAR-TASS, citing local media, the first underground shocks were recorded in the evening at 19:10 local time (21:10 in Moscow).

RIA Novosti clarifies that just at that time polling stations were closed in the elections to the advisory council (Upper House of Parliament).

“These were short shocks of just one or two seconds,” said a resident of Sharm Esh-Sheikh Mohammed Hamil. However, in Hurghada, the earthquake was felt in most areas. Shrts were felt by both local residents and vacationers in the resort. Among people, panic began, many ran out of buildings to the street. There was no information about the victims and destruction.

On November 19, an earthquake of magnitude 4 occurred in the Red Sea 4. Its epicenter was 25 km southwest of Sharm-Esh-Sheikh. Superior shocks also felt in Hurghada and several other tourist villages in Sinai.
