
The Research Institute of Alternative Energy was created in the Belgorod region. He will be engaged in scientific and technical developments and the implementation of specific projects based on renewable energy sources-the sun, wind and water, the Bel.ru news agency reported on January 30.
The Belgorod Institute of Alternative Energy intends to accumulate scientific research in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency, the use of solar energy in technological processes, the production of mixed biofuels and other projects aimed at the development of environmental biotechnologies, biopharmaceuticals and bio -industry.
Employees of the institute will carry out research and development work, develop investment projects and technical and economic justifications for the construction of alternative energy facilities and oversee their construction and operation in the region. The priority task of the institute will be the development of new technologies for the introduction of equipment at the agricultural agro -industrial complex at the enterprises of the agro -industrial complex, which allows to generate electricity due to the disposal of livestock waste, and consequently, reduce the environmental load on the environment.
The need to create in the field of such a structure is due to the relevance of environmental protection issues, as well as the search for alternatives to non -renewable energy sources. The constant growth of industrial production of poultry meat and pork leads to an increase in the volume of livestock waste.
The institute was created on behalf of the governor Yevgeny Savchenko. Last May, a working group was formed, which included members of the regional government, representatives of universities and business entities. The Institute was headed by the general director of Altenergo Viktor Filatov.
According to Filatov, the creation of such an institution in the region will resolve not only issues of the use of alternative energy sources, but also give an impetus to the development of progressive biotechnological directions in agriculture.
