Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, on the eve of a large-scale opposition march and rally on Bolotnaya Square, called for an abandonment of “extremism in slogans.” During his speech at the Russia 2012 investment forum, the mayor expressed the opinion that the capital needs political stability.

“A huge advantage of our city is economic, social and political stability. Calls to quickly reshape the political system, extremism in slogans and deeds will not benefit Moscow and Russia,” believes S. Sobyanin.

The mayor is confident that in the near future Russian citizens will support the course towards stability, order and confident development of the country. “This will allow the city, city authorities, investors, all citizens to make plans for the long term, and then implement them,” S. Sobyanin emphasized.

“Moscow is a city of great opportunities, which, I think, is simply unreasonable to stay away from,” said S. Sobyanin. “Today it is interesting to live in Moscow, here every person has a chance with their own hands and with their heads to create a solid foundation for their future,” - summed up the mayor.

Let us note that S. Sobyanin commented for the first time on the shifts that are taking place in the current political system of society. Earlier, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that in his opinion, mass opposition protests indicate the maturity of Russian society.

“The organization of these actions, by the way, demonstrated the increased responsibility of the authorities to society, as well as the maturity of our citizens, who, in accordance with the law, coordinated all events - the time, place of rallies and other actions with the city authorities,” the Russian leader said during the meeting with law enforcement officers at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region on January 30.

Let us remind you that on Saturday, February 4, the opposition march “For Fair Elections!” will take place in the capital, which will end with a large-scale rally on Bolotnaya Square. According to preliminary data, at least 29 thousand people intend to take part in the action.
