In total, 245 pigeons were exhibited on Internet trade. According to the organizers of the auction, a total of $ 2.5 million was made from the sale of birds, ITAR-TASS reports.

The “priceless” bird worth almost a third of a million dollars was acquired by the Chinese shipbuilding tycoon Hu Zhen Yu. Along with shipbuilding shipyards, he owns a company that arranges pigeon races in South China, where such competitions are gaining popularity.

Pigeons races are also popular in a number of European countries - they are held in the UK, Belgium, Holland and Germany. However, in China, the competition of postal pigeons in recent years has become a big business.
