Oleg Deripaska's Basic Element group does not exclude the possibility of participating in a competition to select the management company of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. This was announced on Tuesday by the group’s deputy general director Andrei Elinson.

At the same time, market sources reported that Basic Element was interested in Domodedovo. Speaking about the possibility of acquiring the largest Russian airport in terms of passenger traffic, Elinson doubted the validity of its assessment. “In our opinion, the valuation of Domodedovo Airport, which they announced even when they intended to go public, is twice as high. We have not heard any other assessment,” he explained.

Domodedovo shareholders expect to receive $5 billion for the asset. In preparation for the IPO, the organizing banks valued the airport at $3.5-7.5 billion.
