Rick Santorum won the primaries in Missouri and Minnesota

Ex-Senator Rick Santorum became the winner of the vote among members of the Republican Party in the States of the Minnesot and Missouri, RIA Novosti reports. According to official figures, 96 percent of the vote are calculated in Missouri. Santorum is gaining 55 percent, Mitt Romni - 25 percent, Congressman with the Libertarian program Ron Paul - 12 percent. Another candidate - Populist Conservative Newton Gingrich did not participate in the primaries in this state.

In Minnesota, after a counting of 45 percent of the vote, Santorum gains 45 percent. The second place in this state went to the floor, it was supported by 27 percent of voters. Romni takes third place with 17 percent of the vote, only 11 percent of those who came to the polling stations voted for Gingrich.

The main intrigue of the current primaries develops in Colorado. After the counting of 5 percent of the vote, Santorum was the leader, however, after the commission processed 11 percent of the ballots, Romny escaped to the first place, ahead of the opponent into two votes.

The primaries in these three states were critical for Romny, who achieved success in preliminary elections in New Hampshire, Florida and Nevada. The victory in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri was necessary for the ex-governor in order to fix the status of the chief candidate from the Republican Party, but this did not happen.

"This situation suggests that the Republican Party does not yet have a truly uniform and strong candidate. Alas, these votes in three states clearly demonstrate this, as well as the inability to do even short -term forecasts for the further stroke of the election campaign," said a high -ranking representative of the republican faction in Congress, who had previously forgotten the victory of Romny.
