In Spain, a verdict was sentenced to Judge Garson, who judged Pinochec and released Gusinsky

The Supreme Court of Spain found guilty of illegal listening to telephone conversations by Judge Balthasar Garson and forbade him to engage in legal activities for 11 years, Reuters reports. The decision was made unanimously, and he will not be able to appeal to this sentence.

According to the prosecution, Garson illegally ordered to listen to negotiations between members of the People’s Party of Spain Francisco Correa and Pablo Krypo, who were in conclusion on suspicion of corruption, with their lawyers. The judge claimed that lawyers were involved in the same case.

At the same time, the court considers another case, which Garson also takes place as a suspect in abuse of authority. The right-wing union of civil servants “Clean Hands” accused the judge of accepting claims from a number of associations for restoring historical memory committed during the Civil War in Spain (1936-1939) and the Franksist dictatorship (1939-1975), although he allegedly understood that conducting such cases was outside his competence.

Also, the case is being considered on Garzon on suspicion of corruption . According to the prosecution, Garzon in exchange for a bribe of 300 thousand dollars stopped investigation against Santander Bank.

Garson himself denies all the accusations, and the International Commission of Lawyers agrees with him. The judge is very popular among the Spanish left -wing and international human rights organizations. Nevertheless, in May 2010, he was removed from his post in the Spanish National Court.

Balthasar Garzon is known for his investigations regarding very noticeable figures, including Chilean General Augusto Pinochet, and “Terrorist number one” Usama Ben Laden, and people suspected of relations with the so -called “Russian Maistanium”.
