Belgian firefighters protested on Friday in Brussels against pension reform proposed by the federal government. As RIA Novosti reports with reference to local media, they doused with foam from the fire extinguishers of the police officers that blocked them.
The protest rally gathered about 50 people. Its participants arrived on 15 fire engines, with its help they also doused the facade of one of the government buildings from the Brandspoit.
Then the delegation of firefighters was accepted in the government. They demand from the authorities that they, like the police officer, be granted the right to early retirement upon reaching 58 years. The government version of the pension reform does not provide for such an opportunity.
In Belgium, there are about 17 thousand employees of fire units.
