Iran stopped the supply of oil to British and French companies, reports Reuters with reference to the representative of the Ministry of Oil of the Islamic Republic Alireza Nikzad. Thus, Iran began to put into operation a long threat to leave Europe without its oil before the EU imposed by the sanctions.

"The export of raw oil to British and French companies was stopped .... We will sell our oil to new consumers," Niczad said.

This week, the Iranian Press TV channel announced the termination of oil supplies of France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and the Netherlands. The Foreign Minister and leaders of the 27 countries of the European Union at a meeting in Brussels approved the embargo for oil supply from Iran at a meeting in Brussels. As part of this package of sanctions, it is assumed that by July 1, all members of the European Union buying oil from Tehran will have to completely turn import from this country. After that, Iran threatened to independently interrupt deliveries to Europe immediately - until European companies have yet prepared for the summer embargo.

The main share of European imports of Iranian oil, about 68%, falls on Greece, Italy and Spain. In Greece, the share of “black gold” from Iran reaches 35%.

The United States and a number of other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the cover of a peaceful atom program. Tehran rejects all the accusations, stating that his nuclear program is aimed exclusively at satisfying the country's needs in electricity.
