Investments in the capital of the Ulyanovsk region have increased

The volume of investments in fixed capital in the Ulyanovsk region in 2011 reached 61.8 billion rubles. These are the data of Ulyanovskstat, published on its official website. The regional Ministry of Economy notes that “this is the highest figure in all the years of the modern history of the region.” The investment growth index (compared to 2010) was 121% - the highest in the Volga Federal District. According to the Ministry of Economy, the annual investment growth index exceeded the average rate for the Russian Federation by almost 15%. At the same time, in terms of the absolute value of investments in fixed capital, the Ulyanovsk region ranks 6-7 (immediately after the Saratov region - about 100 billion rubles). Tatarstan is the leader in this indicator. Regional Minister of Strategic Development and Innovation Alexander Smekalin explains the significant difference in the volume of investments from the November indicators (42.9 billion rubles) by the peculiarities of enterprise reporting and the postponement of the commissioning of objects to the end of the year. According to Mr. Smekalin, “almost 50% of investments come from small and medium-sized businesses,” while the share of government investments as a percentage is decreasing and amounts to less than 10%. Among the companies that made the largest investment contribution are the Sengileevsky cement plant, Mars LLC, Gazprom structures that are building the Syzran-Dimitrovgrad-Ulyanovsk gas pipeline, the Takata-Petri-Rus LLC company, which is building an auto components plant in the Zavolzhskaya industrial zone, the company " Kvartswerke”, completing the installation of the main equipment.
