The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Cyril expressed concern about the level of Russian culture. He spoke about this in his speech at the meeting of the Patriarchal Council on Culture on February 22.

“No living organism can eat synthetic products for a long time, sooner or later it will get sick. In Russia, according to the Patriarch, it is necessary to create conditions under which society, and first of all, young people, will refuse "vulgarity, from what is now called pop, glamor."

A person, according to him, should see around him not only gloss, but also real creativity, art. However, today, Patriarch is convinced, "such a choice is absent."

Having emphasized that the pseudo -produces lead to the degradation of any society, the head of the Russian Church indicated that the education of taste has a spiritual dimension: "Aesthetics and morality are one order, where the outward disgrace, there very soon the internal disgrace may begin."

In addition, he expressed the opinion that the topic of combining upbringing and education is “this is a fundamentally important topic, and on how the future power will respond to these issues, and support from the people and the effectiveness of political actions emanating from this power will depend.”
