On Thursday, supporters of the chief contender for the chair of the president of the country-Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, nominated by the United Russia party, gathered in the sports arena of Luzhnikov. “Putin is our president!”, “We vote for Putin!”, “Putin is the President of Russia!”, “Protect Russia!”, “Sports Moscow for Putin!”, “Kamchatka supports Putin”, “Yakutia with Putin!” - The participants of the action "Protect the country" chanted. According to law enforcement agencies, the rally gathered more than 130 thousand participants. The organizers of the action were Putin’s election headquarters and the All -Russian Popular Front.
Representatives of almost all regions of the country gathered in Moscow to participate in a large -scale civil campaign - these are activists of the Popular Front, representatives of public and youth organizations, students, pensioners, workers, trade union leaders, village workers, and cultural workers. For example, the Tula region was introduced by a delegation of about 300 people. They distributed more than 2000 gingerbread with the inscription "Tula for Putin" to the participants of the action.
The Prime Minister himself arrived at the rally of his supporters. “We will not allow someone to intervene in our internal affairs, we will not allow someone to impose his will, because we have a will, she helped to win at all times,” Putin said.
“We know what the promises of politicians lead to,” said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin from the rostrum. - Sometimes they lead to the complete destruction of the country and the impoverishment of people. Again we are called on to the barricades, we are called to destroy everything that is done and start over. Tell me, do we believe these politicians? No. Luzhniki never collected so many people in order to express their political will, the will to make the right political choice. ”
Analyzing the action in Luzhniki and previous rallies in support of the prime minister, experts distinguish a number of points.
“Now it is customary to compare two waves of rallies - those that support power and those that are aggressive in relation to it,” said Dmitry Orlov, Director General of the Agency of Political and Economic Communications. - But today, at the finish stage of the campaign, it becomes completely obvious that Putin dominates the street. The rallies in his support in both Moscow and the regions are an adequate technological way to attract the electorate that supports the prime minister, to mobilize it so that he comes to the urns for voting on March 4. Speaking of a rally in Luzhniki, having in view of its scale, you need to understand that he is adequate to the level of support for the prime minister, and he, including, is also evidenced by sociological forecasts of elections, is huge. ”
This opinion of the political scientist is confirmed by sociologists. The All -Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) and the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) presented its forecasts of the outcome of the elected race. According to the forecasts of these two leading sociological services, Vladimir Putin confidently defeats his rivals in the presidential race in the first round.

For other applicants, sociologists predict the following level of support: 14.8% - Zyuganov, 9.4% - Zhirinovsky, 8.7% - Prokhorov, 7.7% - Mironov.
