The famous British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber intends to write his next musical about the "Profumo case"-a spy scandal of 50 years ago, in which the alleged employee of Soviet military intelligence was involved, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the British media.

The composer himself told reporters that the main character of the new musical will be the Great Stevele Steven Ward, who in 1961 introduced the Minister of Defense of Great Britain John Profumo with the fashion model Christine Kiler, who became his mistress. This novel caused a loud scandal and, ultimately, the resignation of the Minister of Defense in 1963.

Among the lovers, Christine was also the Soviet naval attache, Evgeny Ivanov, whom the British counterintelligence MI-5 suspected of belonging to special services. The counterintelligence conducted Ivanov, hoping to persuade him to cooperate.

Ivanova introduced the English doctor -Osteopath (manual therapist) Stephen Ward - the same person who had previously introduced Christine and Profumo.
