This event was organized as part of the promotion "For honest elections" and arranged by civil activists and opposition. The White Circle is a flash mob, the organization of which did not require additional approvals with the authorities.

The action began at 14 o’clock and lasted about an hour.

People were varied in a flash mob in a variety of: they held white balls in their hands, tied white ribbons, and another symbolism of the action “for honest elections” was also used. People stood on the sidewalks, without blocking the roadway.

The “White Circle” was closed: supporters of the opposition and civil activists lined up almost along the entire garden, holding hands, the media reported. Gaps were observed only in those places where the ring line intersects with other streets. According to the coordinator of the Left Front Sergey Udaltsov, a living chain indicates that at least 30 thousand people take part in the action.

Supporters of Vladimir Putin in the same place on a garden ring handed ribbons to passers-by in support of the Prime Minister and presidential candidate. At the Park of Culture metro, they tried to organize a chain parallel opposition.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow, up to 11 thousand people took part in the event. There were no violations of public order. Safety measures were still strengthened on the garden ring, but everything went without incidents.
