".... the opera "Dead Souls" by composer R. Shchedrin based on N.V. Gogol was performed.
Among the spectators in the royal box was the Head of the Central Election Commission, Vladimir Churov. At the end of the performance, at the moment when the curtain closed and the lights were turned on in the hall, one of the spectators loudly and clearly shouted twice, “FUCK, WHAT ARE YOU TRADE IN DEAD SOULS?!” After the shout, many spectators turned to the royal box and laughter rolled through the stalls. Then another loud exclamation sounded: “CHICHIKOV IS TODAY’S CHUROV!” Already after this slogan, the spectators in the stalls, on the balconies and in the tiers, turning to Vladimir Churov, began to enthusiastically applaud him, enrolling the head of the Central Election Commission among the true heroes of the poem “Dead Souls”. The applause turned into a long ovation, during which Vladimir Churov stood in the royal box, doing nothing and looking at the audience discouraged."
