The media preferences of the capital's elite have changed significantly: the opinion poll showed that on the eve of the elections, the indicator of protest moods in this environment goes off scale, which predetermines the choice of media that even remotely resemble opposition ones. Leading federal publications were not included in this list ...
On the eve of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, the W-city.net Research Group conducted a traditional annual survey of owners of suburban real estate of the "business + 2" and "premium" class, located in the most prestigious areas of Rublevo-Uspenskoye, Novo-Rizhskoye, Kievskoye and Dmitrovskoye highways, during which sociologists identified the media preferences of this elite category of Russian citizens.
The Group's experts interviewed over 500 owners and residents of country houses worth at least €1 million. The interviews were conducted both directly in the "habitat" of the capital's elite, and in places of its recreation - elite clubs, restaurants, shopping centers and boutiques in Moscow and the Moscow suburbs.
Based on the results of the IG survey, W-city.net has compiled a rating of the media that are the most popular and trusted news resources among super-wealthy Russians on the eve of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation. To some extent, the results of the survey were predictable and understandable, but some of its results aroused surprise and alertness among sociologists.
The first trend is a change in the quality of the protest moods of the elite category of Russians, who continue to evaluate the results of the activities of the modern government extremely negatively. Moreover, these preferences not only increased, but also acquired a more meaningful, philosophical nature, as indicated by new media trends.
“Business gloss literally burst into the clip of popular publications,” Timofei Surovtsev, head of the w-city.net research resource, comments on the media rating. - So, Forbes again took the 1st place - together with its electronic version, then, against the backdrop of a fresh scandal and a provocative photo of the Premier, Kommersant-Vlast noticeably "added". In the course of the survey, the respondents said that they were pretty tired of the biased, intrusive pre-election daily press and were more inclined towards the magazine - essay-analytical-commentary genre, in which there is always a place for eloquent omissions or ambiguous overtones.
And the main - the most unique trend, which was difficult to predict a year ago - is the emergence of the first positions of social networks - precisely as the most reliable and influential media. “We are talking primarily about Facebook, of course,” comments Timofey Surovtsev. – In fact, today there is not a single resource in the media field of Russia that could even be roughly compared with this network in terms of its influence, efficiency and organizational abilities. However, I'm afraid that the peak of its popularity and authenticity FB has already passed, and further in the future it has serious problems associated with rapid uncontrolled growth and, as a result, the loss of this very authenticity, ”the expert predicts.
Particularly popular among the nouveau riche are the manifestations of such a form of journalistic struggle against strict censorship as “partisanism” - when even quite successful journalists of well-known publications go against the conformist trend at their own risk and allow themselves to openly or covertly criticize or mock the authorities. So, decent points and points in this environment were earned by the “laying down their heads” Frondeurs - ex-Kommersants Demyan Kudryavtsev, Maxim Kovalsky and Andrey Galiev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Gazeta.ru Roman Badanin; Alexey Venediktov, the oldest "Ekhovets", who fell under administrative pressure, and his associates; “Komsomolskaya Pravda” was also surprised, which dared to conduct an online broadcast of the last opposition procession and rally on Bolotnaya.
It is quite natural that the Kommersant publishing house, which sent a top official to ..., took the first position among the resources popular on Rublyovka. However, it is obvious that he will lose this palm just as quickly - the "reliability" of the publication was restored by the strong-willed hand of the main shareholder, due to which "their" rating is falling.
So, as a result of processing the survey data of the IG W-city.net, the following rating of media preferences was compiled, which consists of 5 blocks, each of which contains the 3 most popular media:
