The sacred meaning of the pro-Putin rally in Luzhniki, the show on the Internet and the entire imitation of popular support for the national leader is only that large budget and near-budget funds are allocated for this, which need to be laundered, stolen and used. For 11 years I have been writing notes on LiveJournal, writing what I think, and it never occurred to me that if I backed up my opinion with two, three, a hundred virtuals, it would sound more weighty and would enjoy more support from readers. But now we read the correspondence of Christina Potupchik and find in it reports on technologies that allow us to write 250 posts per day on behalf of 200 virtuals on LiveJournal and Twitter. She tells how she hired a person who will hire 50 more people, and then the same statement will sound in hundreds of different voices. It turns out that she obviously does not allow people themselves to want to relay this opinion. She does not believe that her words, her slogans will find support. She is well aware that like-minded people need to be artificially created, bought, fabricated, because the thoughts that she voices are absolutely illiquid.
No one goes to “pro-Putin” rallies. Unless, of course, we do not count the thousands of those who are driven there under the threat of sanctions and layoffs. All that these people discuss at rallies is how to check in next time and not go. Being for Putin and supporting power has become a shame. People do this under duress and do not hesitate to say on camera that they were herded there like sheep. Therefore, all the rhetoric about snickering Muscovites, against whom the working people oppose, is not capable of mobilizing any of Putin's electorate. This rhetoric leads to only one thing: people understand that they are under serious pressure and will have to, willy-nilly, somehow portray support for Putin.
Therefore, when a person approaches people on the street, he calls himself a VTsIOM sociologist and begins to find out who they are for, they say that they are for Putin. And not a single normal person who lives in the outback and knows how the administrative resource works, how they deal with objectionable people, how they take away businesses, how they are fired from work, will say that he is against Putin. Just to keep yourself out of trouble. As a result, poll data is very different from how people actually vote. After all, we know, de facto, that on December 4, only 23% voted for United Russia, while polls gave it 60%.
If the people who are engaged in falsifying popular support for Putin by driving dead souls to rallies did not understand how illiquid their product is, they would simply rely on the fact that people will come themselves. The way the organizers of Bolotnaya rely on it. Because the opposition relies on conscious people who do what they think is right. But supporters of the government do not believe themselves. And when a rally “for Putin” is arranged along the Garden Ring, they do it in the evening so that it is not very clear who is participating.
The opposition does not need state departmental funding, which is not there - it is enough to read Navalny's correspondence or listen to the laid out negotiations of the opposition leaders. And the organizers of rallies for Putin cannot do without a budget - they saw and draw up reports in which they monstrously overestimate their expenses. 200 thousand rubles for a post in Ilya Varlamov's LiveJournal? But everyone knows that officially an advertising post on his blog costs 50 thousand. Where did 200 thousand come from? This is a 4-way wrap for the client.
The whole point of this activity, as Navalny correctly points out, is the development of attendants. After all, even the point of initiating criminal cases against Navalny is not at all to imprison Navalny or force him to stop writing exposing texts. You can simply take money from the customer of the criminal case and report that the case has been initiated. This is a big factory for laundering public money, naturally, this factory needs dead souls, which are not needed by any protest movement, because protest movements and living souls are doing well. Navalny does not need the State Department or the state budget - the money for Rospil was given by people - 20 thousand people - who are not ashamed of what they are doing and who believe in the correctness of their actions. Without any go-ahead from above.
