An ecological code may appear in Russia

The proposals for the development of the Ecological Code of Russia and the creation of an interactive map of the state of water resources were nominated at an expanded meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation of the V Nevsky International Ecological Congress, which took place on February 29 in the Council of the Federation, the press service of the Russian Federation .

According to the results of the work of the Congress, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Nature Management and Ecology Vladimir Kashin proposed to develop and adopt the environmental Code of the Russian Federation.

“We have a forest code, there is a water code. Why do we not have an ecological code? I am convinced that this is one of the main tasks, where we could very worthy to prescribe everything ... ”, - reports Kashin Strf.ru.

According to him, 50 million people live in Russia in that environment where the maximum permissible concentration of harmful substances in atmospheric air is 10 times higher than sanitary and hygienic standards; The reproduction of forests decreased 10 times.

Kashin said that the agreement to activate work on the creation of the Ecological Code was reached at a joint meeting of the State Duma committee and college of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia headed by him.

An interactive map of water resources may also appear in Russia. A doctor of medical sciences, the host of the Health program Elena Malysheva, made a proposal for its creation at a meeting.

According to Elena Malysheva, two years ago there was an attempt to create a similar project on the website of the Health program. However, it is difficult to create such a card, since sanitary supervision of water includes not only the definition of some elements relatively constant (chlorine, fluorine, etc.), but the bacteriological state of water, and changes quite quickly.

Therefore, Malysheva proposed cooperation to create an interactive map of the state of water to the head of Rospotrebnadzor Gennady Onishchenko. In turn, he agreed to support the project.

The Nevsky International Ecological Congress, the organizers of which will be the Council of the Federation and the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS states, will be held on May 17-18, 2012 in St. Petersburg. Its participants will discuss the problems of environmental safety, improve environmental legislation, increase energy efficiency and reduce the nature of production, and the formation of the environmental culture of the population.
