Elections to the Iranian parliament began

Today, March 2, elections to Majlis - the country's parliament began in Iran. Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 18 pm on local time (8:30 - 18:30 in Moscow). It is reported by Reuters .

Representatives of the opposition, advocating liberal reforms, refused to participate in the elections. Because of this, the main struggle unfolds between conservative politicians.

The latest elections in the country occurred in 2009 - then the Iranians re -elected the President of the Akhmadijad for the second term. After that, mass protests were held, which, however, did not lead to a change in the regime or resignation of the president.
