The elections at polling station No. 1402 in Dagestan will be declared invalid, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Leonid Ivlev told reporters.

He explained that the reason for the decision to invalidate the elections was ballot stuffing, recorded using web cameras. “So far we have not received any complaints in connection with this incident, but now I can say that the elections at polling station No. 1402 in the Republic of Dagestan will be cancelled,” said L. Ivlev. Earlier, the observer corps “For Clean Elections” reported the cancellation of elections at this polling station.

According to observers from the “For Fair Elections” corps, the stuffing took place in the Tarumovsky district, the village of Tarumovka. The injection continued for 16 minutes. Tina Kandelaki, the head of the public council of the corps, promptly contacted the Chairman of the People's Assembly of Dagestan Magomed Sultan and drew his attention to the massive falsification.

“Thanks to Tina’s call, we promptly contacted the representative of the PEC at the polling station. I was informed that an attempt at mass stuffing for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was stopped. Details will be available in the next hour,” said M. Sultan.

A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg over ballot stuffing at one of the city's polling stations. Governor of the Northern capital Georgy Poltavchenko announced this at a briefing. According to the police, the stuffing was carried out by a resident of the Leningrad region who voted in the city using an absentee certificate. She was detained immediately after she threw several more papers into the ballot box, in addition to her ballot. The incident occurred in St. Petersburg at PEC No. 118 on Nalichnaya Street.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of RBC stated that, in general, the presidential elections in the Russian Federation took place calmly, without any serious violations or incidents. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the police’s work does not end once the polling stations close. Employees of the internal affairs bodies will continue to be at the polling stations while votes are being counted and final protocols are being drawn up. Police officers will also assist in transporting documentation to higher polling stations.

In addition, mass events are planned in Moscow and some other large cities of the Russian Federation, dedicated, among other things, to the election results. Police officers and internal troops will also provide security at these events.
