Five thousand residents of Kurgan took part in the rally “Clean elections - clean victory!”, held in Kurgan near the central square on Monday. The declared number of participants was 600 people.
“600 people were announced to take part in the rally, but, according to our data, about 5 thousand people came,” a representative of the city’s Ministry of Internal Affairs told Interfax .
The rally, which began at 15:00 local time, lasted about half an hour. Those gathered were in high spirits and congratulated each other on the voting results. In the hands of those gathered were flags and posters with the inscriptions “For Russia without revolutions,” “Victory is ours!”, “A stable future is our choice.”
Among the speakers were State Duma deputy from the Kurgan region Alexander Iltyakov, regional governor Oleg Bogomolov.
“I thank everyone who voted for Vladimir Vladimirovich. This is the right decision from my point of view. I have known this man for a long time, and I have something to compare with. I came to the leadership of the region in the early 90s in devastation, in debt, then I worked with Vladimir Vladimirovich, and today we see the results of this work in our city, in our villages. Yes, there are still a lot of problems and tasks that we have to solve, but we know how to do it systematically in all directions. This consistency is Vladimir Vladimirovich’s nature,” the governor said.
He noted that “all political squabbles and showdowns must be completed, everyone must admit that Putin won.”
“We need to recognize this fact, and not light the fire of dirty or dishonest elections. We would really like there to be no more political squabbles. We have something to do, there are other, more important tasks. Therefore, I ask everyone to unite. I believe in the intelligence and common sense of our people,” concluded Bogomolov.
