They joked about Khodorkovsky’s second term: “even while in prison, this scoundrel continues to commit new and daring crimes.” Now we can add that he is also a double agent: he helps both the authorities and the opposition.
Hardly anyone doubts that the imprisonment of the head of YUKOS was the result of a personal conflict between VVP and MBKh. The businessman took aim at the sacred - Putin's power - but was not decisive enough and ended up in prison. All Putin’s opponents remember this, and Khodorkovsky is always number one on the list of political prisoners of the Putin regime (followed by his partner in YUKOS and MENATEP, Platon Lebedev). The authorities know very well how a certain part of society feels about the affairs of Khodorkovsky and Magnitsky, so at convenient moments they begin to play liberalism. Let’s say, even before the United Russia congress, at which Putin’s return was announced, there was some talk about the possibility for Khodorkovsky and Lebedev to be released on parole (parole). Medvedev even said that he would not mind if this happens. But what happened in the end? People applied for parole, but they were denied for some stupid reason: they had comments from the administration for particularly serious acts such as “sharing a piece of chicken with a cellmate.” They also promised to investigate the Magnitsky case, but it ended with the fact that not long ago a case was opened against the deceased lawyer - this is a savagery that has not been seen in developed countries for a long time.
Now Putin is taking away with one hand (riot police beat the participants in the meeting with the deputy on Pushkinskaya), and with the other he is “giving”: check, so be it, the legality of Khodorkovsky’s sentence. People are completely stupid, they have long forgotten who initiated this very sentence.
These two people will not be free together, they can only switch places, but Putin will do everything to prevent this.
