Against the backdrop of the next attempts of the West, to convince Russia to help with the change of power in Syria, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation at the UN told from where militants-revolutionaries can get into the country. According to Vitaly Churkin, there is evidence that these "cadets" are trained in Libya, where only recently during their own revolution and civil war was the many years of Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown and killed.

“We are concerned about incoming reports that in Libya, with the support of the authorities, a special center for training the so -called Syrian revolutionaries was organized,” Churkin said. The "cadets" of the center are sent to Syria for "conducting hostilities against the legal government", quoted by RIA Novosti diplomat.

“This is unacceptable by all the standards of international law. In addition, such activities undermine efforts to ensure stability in the region of the Middle East,” Vitaliy Churkin laid the Libyans.

Previously, there were reports that in the ranks of the opposition there are a large group of Libyans, mobilized since the Civil War in Libya. The media also got information that the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf organized in the north of Jordan near the Syrian border of the militant training camp, which are planned to be transferred to Syria in the future.

The armed struggle of the opposition with the regime of President Bashar Assad in Syria has not stopped since March 2011. According to the UN, during this civil war, more than 7.5 thousand people have already died: about 5.5 thousand civilian citizens of the country and over 2 thousand soldiers and special services.

A number of countries in Europe and the USA advocate interference in the Syrian crisis, insisting on adopting the corresponding resolution of the UN Security Council. However, Russia and China, as permanent members of the SB with the right of veto, prevent any attempts to adopt a strict resolution against Syria. According to Moscow, Western countries may try to realize the Libyan Scenario in Syria, using military power to overthrow Assad.

The fact that in the ranks of the Syrian opposition are fighting people trained abroad for a long time. There is even unconfirmed information about the participation of French officers in the battles. In February, observers of the League of the Arab states recognized that resistance in the country is mainly conducted by the forces of Pakistani, Afghan, Lebanese, Iraqi, Libyan and Yemenic militants, Interfax notes.

In addition, in the ranks of revolutionaries there are foreigners, possibly associated with al-Qaeda. Their numbers, however, are small, are considered in the international group to prevent crises. “It is not surprising that in the country covered by the riots, there was a place for foreign volunteers,” said the representative of the organization Peter Harling. “However, their role is still insignificant, unless the Syrians consider their presence valuable.”

“I can’t imagine how foreigners can impose something in Syrians at this stage, and I don’t think there are a lot of them,” the expert said.

In a similar way, Karimi Bitar, an expert from the French Institute of International and Strategic Relations, is expressed in a similar way. According to him, some of the foreign fighters are members of Al-Qaeda, "who are howling in Syria on the call of Ayman Az-Zawakhiri, who openly supported the opposition."

At the same time, the leaders of the Free Syrian Army, fighting against government troops, rejected such proposals, saying that they were in no way connected with al-Qaeda.

The United States still hopes to overthrow Assad with the help of Russia

Despite the new sharp statements of the Russian side regarding the situation in Syria, Washington continues to hope to negotiate with Moscow about joint actions. On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed the hope that Russia will begin to act more actively.

“We continue to hope that Russia will join the world community and play a positive role in the termination of bloodshed and will help create conditions for a peaceful democratic change in power,” Clinton said at a press conference in Washington.

The Secretary of State said that on Tuesday, on these issues, she had a conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and also intends to meet him for negotiations in New York on the next Monday.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry himself in an interview with the Russian News Service previously stated that the path to resolving the crisis lies through a dialogue with the participation of all Syrian political forces and ethnic confessional groups. An alternative is a destructive civil war, Lavrov emphasized.
