Yesterday I received some news:

- Chairman of the Moscow City Court Olga Egorova considers the topic of reviewing the sentence of Mikhail Khodorkovsky closed (this is in response to Medvedev’s request regarding the Yukos case)...

- Moscow Vice-Mayor Pyotr Biryukov says that rallies (of course, the opposition) bring losses to public utilities. And Moscow officials consider it necessary in this regard to revise the law on holding rallies (of course, in the direction of increasing restrictions)...

What would that mean?

Vladimir Putin, as it seemed to me last week, during his twelve presidential years has generated a certain Matrix of Behavior in the country , which consists of an endless imitation of everything - politics, public life, business, and so on.

Perhaps this happened because he could not get rid of the intelligence officer's lifestyle and unwittingly turned the post of president into a post of resident of his own interests in Russia. He gives himself secret assignments and reports to himself about them... It’s as if the USSR disappeared, and Stirlitz stayed and even became Chancellor of Germany... He has to deceive everyone in order to avoid failure himself...

But his unusual authoritarianism is still authoritarianism! How does a democratic state system differ from an authoritarian one?

In a democratic system of checks and balances, the goal of a politician is what he wants or can do when elected to public office. Some efforts to maintain one's leadership position are little more than an afterthought, such as when preparing for a second term.

In an authoritarian system, the goal is sharply transferred to the politician maintaining his position of power. The absence of clear term limits leads to an endless, lifelong race for one's place. Fear and suspicion only strengthen it. And what a politician can do for the country, on the contrary, becomes a secondary detail. Which, moreover, is greatly distorted by the desire to please the dissatisfied...

And there is a bad feeling that all the words, actions and intentions of the last months are also an imitation. In order to maintain his position in the March presidential elections... It was assumed that there would be a calm reappointment - but here it is on you! Discontent and unrest of the people! So we had to urgently take special measures - temporarily agree with the opinion of part of the population and opposition leaders in order to gain time and reduce the intensity of discontent.

A proposal to change political legislation, a tolerant attitude towards protesters on the street, a promise of change and freedom, a hint of a review of the Khodorkovsky case... All this is again an imitation. Temporarily. Even video cameras at polling stations, which some foreign observers were delighted with - and that clever imitation move that made it possible to hide massive falsifications of a different type...

And today's news may well be confirmation that the special imitation event has passed and everything is returning to its usual state...

Or not? Maybe Vladimir Putin has really changed, and all the latest aggressive mass imitations are nothing more than a habitual reaction of the system he created? Putin's matrices? And the GDP itself is still wondering what to do? In the end, there is a reason for this - the endless struggle for one’s position of power usually ends sadly for both the ruler and his country. If Putin doesn’t want this, what should he do?

Then he can try to peacefully leave the political stage (or better yet, the arena), preparing a successor who will guarantee his immunity. The weak Medvedev did not make a successor - maybe Prokhorov will? In any case, this is the only explanation why the Putin administration promoted Prokhorov and removed Yavlinsky! After all, Yavlinsky would clearly have won less in the elections. It was more convenient. But it would be more difficult to come to an agreement with Yavlinsky later...

If such an assumption is real, then political reforms and even Khodorkovsky’s exit are possible in the next year or two. And the latest news is heartburn of the administrative system... But it is possible that this is funny and unrealistic. Then everything we are witnessing is a complete imitation! Dialogue with the dissatisfied population has not even begun and will not begin. And the fate of Putin himself is the failure of his “residency” and exposure... True, it is not clear why he needs this...
