In Kazan, five employees of the Dalniy police department were detained, suspected of involvement in the death of 5 , 2-year-old Kazan resident Sergei Nazarov , after interrogation, the press service of the Kazan Human Rights Center, which provides legal assistance to the family of the deceased, told Interfax .
Among those detained are the deputy head of the Dalniy OP, three operatives and a local police officer. According to human rights activists, the district police officer confessed to the operatives who interrogated Nazarov.
“On suspicion of committing a crime against Nazarov, a 25-year-old district commissioner of the Dalniy police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Kazan was detained. According to the investigation, without sufficient grounds, he delivered Nazarov, suspected of theft, to the police department for an investigation against him. operational-search activities,” said Eduard Abdullin, senior assistant to the head of the ICR Investigative Directorate for Tatarstan.
In the department, according to him, the district police officer falsified materials that served as the basis for drawing up a false protocol against the detainee on the commission of an administrative offense under Art. 20.1 Code of Administrative Offenses (“Petty hooliganism”).
Subsequently, as the investigation believes, it was he who took Nazarov out of the administrative detention cell and handed him over to operatives.
