Sacred sacrifice

There is a terrible scandal and squabble in the noble family of oligarchs: Deripaska, Prokhorov and Vekselberg grabbed each other's hair and beards when dividing up the common Rusal, and it will soon come to a massacre.

This is Vekselberg: “I have to state with regret that at present Rusal is in a deep crisis caused by the actions of management, as a result of which UC Rusal has turned from a world leader in the aluminum industry into a company overloaded with debts, involved in a large number of legal litigation and social conflicts."

Deripaska’s troubadours snapped back in the “fool himself” style: “Mr. Vekselberg has actually ceased to perform his functions as chairman of the board of directors of a public company for more than a year now. As the current chairman of the board of directors, Mr. Vekselberg has not taken part in any of the in-person meetings of the company’s board of directors since February 2011, was not present at the annual meeting of shareholders of UC Rusal, held on June 25, 2011 in Hong Kong, and also did not participate in any meetings with investors during the year."

But then the third participant in the concession, the Courchevel entertainer Prokhorov, entered the showdown: “The controlling stake in the Rusal company belongs to Oleg Deripaska. And everyone knows that there is a conflict of shareholders within the Rusal company. Vekselberg (as co-owner of Sual Partners, owning 15.8% shares of UC Rusal) and I (Prokhorov has 17%) do not agree with the policy that Deripaska is now pursuing both in the international arena and within the country. We are trying to change this, but he has a controlling stake."

It seems very likely that it was decided to shorten Pikalev’s sufferer Deripaska, or even appoint him as the main victim in the unfolding struggle with the vile oligarchs for their countless assets. Putin hinted about a sacred sacrifice, although not everyone understood what kind and in the name of what. The picture is becoming clearer. The issue of legalizing everything that was appropriated in the dashing 90s and fun zeros is becoming more and more acute, which is why Chubais and his accomplices are so nervous.

It is impossible to simply close the issue of privatization - this means that the moment has come to revise the list of owners in order to elegantly declare those who have dropped out guilty of everything and arrange an act of “great justice.” The very fact of replacing Deripaska with, for example, Pepelatska does not change anything, but the trend is remarkable: there is one less oligarch, and that’s good.
