A native of Sierra Leone John Onhez , who recently received citizenship of Moldova, temporarily turned into a sight of the capital. According to Reuters, he settled in bed in front of the government building demanding to give him housing.
A supporter of the unification of Moldova and Romania, 53-year-old, was covered by a banner of the Liberal Democratic Party of Prime Minister Vladimir Filat and threatens to sleep here until he achieved the desired.
Having fled from the civil war in his homeland, he lived in Moldova for 13 years and was always an exemplary tenant, but participation in the recent political campaign on the side of the party in power cost him a roof over his head.
“After my protests against the opposition party of the Communists, no one wants to take me to the apartment,” the demonstrator said.
On the same way, he owns a business in the sale of newspapers and magazines, but says that he does not have enough money to buy an apartment, which costs at least 25,000 euros in Chisinau. He wants to get a family, but he cannot afford it. “I have nowhere to invite my future wife,” complained herself.
The government of the poorest country in Europe says that he cannot just take and give the apartment to the protesting one.
“There are many people in the country who, like Mr. Bezh, need housing,” said the adviser to Prime Minister Igor Volnitsky. "But the government cannot forbid him to express his protest in this way, while he has a permit for a promotion issued by the Chisinau mayor."
