Marina Salye died

A message has just appeared on the feed - Marina Evgenievna Salye died of a massive heart attack.
scientist and politician, resident of the besieged city, deputy of the democratic city council, people's deputy of Russia, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, founder (in 1990) of the Free Democratic Party of Russia. In recent months, she has been a member of the People's Freedom Party.

In 1992, Salye headed the commission of the St. Petersburg City Council, created to investigate the activities of the chairman of the Committee on External Relations under the Mayor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Putin . After the commission presented the results of the investigation, the City Council adopted a resolution calling on the mayor to dismiss Putin and instruct the prosecutor's office to investigate suspicions of corruption and embezzlement of funds. The mayor ignored the recommendation.
At the beginning of 2000, journalists, interested in the past of Boris Yeltsin's successor, were looking for various information about Vladimir Putin, and interviewed Marina Salye, trying to draw attention to the results of her investigation.
In 2001, she unexpectedly left St. Petersburg and moved to live in a village located more than 100 km from St. Petersburg. Since then, Salye has appeared in public only two times: at a rally in memory of
Boris Yeltsin in St. Petersburg, and there she opened a rally on Konyushennaya Square after the march “For Fair Elections! February 4, 2012. ”

Eternal memory!

Those who, despite the cold, came to the march and rally on Konyushennaya Square on February 4, had a chance to hear one of Marina Evgenievna’s last speeches.
